More than SATs preparation.
Of course, we’ll work on the Year 6 knowledge children need for SATs.
But the bigger goal is making sure they leave primary school with strong foundations they can build on in Year 7 and beyond.
For children who have started to believe they’re simply “not good at maths”, Year 6 is also an opportunity to change that. I want children to enter secondary school feeling more secure in what they know, more willing to have a go and more positive about what they’re capable of.
A different kind of maths group
Strengthen
the foundations
Identify and fill gaps while securing the key maths knowledge children will need as they move into secondary school.
Games, challenges, problem-solving and interactive activities help children explore maths rather than simply memorise methods.
Learn differently
Build confidence
Mistakes are part of learning. Sessions focus on understanding, resilience and developing a more positive maths mindset.
Learn in a way
that works for them
Small groups, movement, brain breaks and a SEND & neurodiversity-friendly approach create space for different ways of learning.

Who are the groups for?
Your child doesn’t need to be struggling with maths to benefit from the group.
Sessions are suitable for Year 6 children who:
• Have gaps in their maths knowledge
• Lack confidence or worry about getting things wrong
• Find traditional classroom learning difficult
• Have SEND or are neurodivergent
• Want to strengthen their maths before secondary school
• Enjoy maths and would benefit from further challenge
• Learn well through games, discussion and problem-solving
There’s no expectation that every child should be working at the same level.

A confident start to secondary school!
The move from primary to secondary school is a big transition.
New teachers. New classrooms. New expectations.
Having secure maths foundations can remove one of those worries.
My aim is for children to finish Year 6 not only better prepared for secondary maths, but with greater confidence in their own ability to work things out.
Because the mindset they take into Year 7 matters too.
Learn together and meet others like you
Small-group sessions give children the chance to work alongside other Year 6 pupils, share ideas, solve problems together and build positive relationships.
It’s a supportive environment where children can ask questions, make mistakes and realise they’re not the only person who sometimes finds maths tricky.
With a maximum of 8 pupils, the group is small enough for individual support while still giving children the social benefits of learning alongside others.
